A Word About the Materials in the Products we Distribute
The PLA (polylactic acid) based products we offer are made from Ingeo biopolymer (formerly NatureWorksPLA). The resin is made with corn dextrose sourced from producers within a 30-mile radius of Blair Nebraska. In the United States, due to Government subsidies, No. 2 Yellow Dent field corn is the most abundant and cheap source of a fermentable sugar. PLA itself can be made from any sugar or non-food biomass as feedstock, however field corn is used in order to be competitive with petroleum (Crude Oil) based plastics that are also subsidized by the US Government. Ingeo biopolymer does not contain Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO's). It is heat tolerant as a film for paper board (ie. ecotainer™ Paper Hot Cups) however, as a clear container, it is for cold applications only and will warp at temps above 105 degrees. ASTM D6400 certified for compostability in a Commercial Composting environment.
Cereplast resin is made near Los Angeles. Our US made straws are made from this resin made from corn, wheat, tapioca and potato starch. It is certified to contain no GMO's and is ASTM D6400 Compliant to be compostable in a Commercial Composting environment.
Sugar Cane (bagasse) Fiber is a byproduct of the sugar cane refining industry. The Sugar Cane products we offer are 100% petroleum free and are BPI certified to ASTMD 6868 standards... These products can be composted in your back yard! This is a great product to replace Expanded Polystyrene (Styrofoam).
ecotainer™ Compostable Hot Cups, Cold Cups & Food Containers
ecotainer™ hot cups, Cold Cups and food containers from International Paper are made in the USA from fully renewable resources, are compostable after use, and have a smaller environmental footprint. Traditional paper hot cups use a petroleum-based plastic, low density polyethylene (LDPE), to provide a moisture barrier. ecotainer™ replaces LDPE with a bio-plastic made from corn.
These cups meet ASTM-D6400 guidelines for compostability and are certified by the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI). Fiber used in the production of the paper is certified according to Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) guidelines. Made in USA.
Hot Cup sizes are 4, 8, 10, 12, 16 and 20oz. 100% Recycled Plain Kraft Hot Cup Sleeves available.
New Compostable Hot Cup Lids are available for 10, 12, 16 and 20oz. Hot Cups.
Food Container sizes are 8, 12, 16 and 32oz.

Unfortunately, to make the 8oz. ecotainer™ Hot Cup and the ecotainer™ Food Container functional, we must offer conventional plastic lids until a suitable bio-based lid becomes available.
BioPlus Earth Kraft Food Boxes
Made from SFI Certified, 100% Recycled Kraft Paper Board with a minimum of 35% or more Post Consumer Waste (PCW). Green Restaurant Certified and although lined with Polyethylene (LDPE), they are accepted in the Los Angeles Food Waste Recycling Program. Made in USA.

Sugar Cane (bagasse) Plates, Bowls, Hinged Containers, Platters and Trays
Made out of Sugarcane fibers, is 100% Tree-Free, Renewable, Compostable. Is oil, water & heat resistant. Microwave & freezer safe, and non-toxic! A great replacement for Expanded Polystyrene (aka "Styrofoam"). All of these products are made of Heavy Fiber for reliable performance. Some of the Hinged Containers are available lined with PLA for an extra barrier.
Cereal Bowl sizes are 12 and 16oz.
Round Plate sizes are 6, 7, 9 and 10 inch. 9" and 10" available in 1 or 3 compartment.
Hinged Container sizes are 6 x 6 x 3.19", 7.875 x 8 x 2.5" (medium), 7.875 x 8 x 3.19 in (Deep) and 9 x 9 x 3.19" also available in 3 compartment for 7.875 x 8 and 9 x 9. Hoagie Boxes come in 9 x 6 x 3.19" 1 and 2 compartment. PLA Lined Hinged Container Sizes are 7.875 x 8 x 3.19" and 9 x 9 x 3.19" both sizes available in 1 and 3 compartment.
Compartment Lunch Tray sizes are 6 x 6 x 3.19" (5 compartment) and 7.875 x 8 x 2.5" (6 compartment)
Platter sizes are 10.25" x 7.75" and 12.50" x 10".
Unfortunately, all sugar cane pulp products are currently being produced in China, however that is also where a great deal of the world's sugar cane is grown and processed. Our focus is mainly on providing US Made products and until there is a suitable replacement made here, we will be proud to offer it.
Compostable Bioplastic Containers
