Compostable Hot Cups
ecotainer™ Compostable Hot Cup
ecotainer™ hot cups from International Paper are made from fully renewable resources, are compostable after use, and have a smaller environmental footprint. Traditional paper hot cups use a petroleum-based plastic, low density polyethylene (LDPE), to provide a moisture barrier. ecotainer™ replaces LDPE with a bio-plastic made from corn.
These cups meet ASTM-D6400 guidelines for compostability and are certified by the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI). Fiber used in the production of the paper is certified according to Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) guidelines.
